In 1986 Bob Norman (Stephen's Grandfather) opened Bob's Tire Service in Attalla, Alabama. When Bob retired Stephens uncles Brian and Tim took over. At the end of 2024, Brian and Tim asked Stephen if he was ready to take over the business. So on January 2025 Stephen was the new owner and brought his wife, Hayley, in to help. Hayley comes from a family business also. Her grandfather started a local boot store (Anderson's Shoes and Boots) opened 1971 and is still open to this day.

 

When taking over, Stephen's number one priority was keeping current customers and bringing in new ones. About 2 days a week the Tire store has welcomed local food trucks to cater to their customers. They were also recognized by their local bank, Emblem Credit Union, and did a business spotlight on their social media and represented on the banks website. Stephen changed the tire store logo had some hats and t-shirts made to try and promote the business. Next fall Bob's will be Celebrating 40 years in business. They are so excited to share with the community their success with local food truck vendors and tire vendor, even giving away a set of tires.

 

Alabama Tire Dealers Association has been a great asset to our business. We get up to date information on local tire landfills and scrap tire information and so much more without relying on the news to tell us first. We have learned a lot about double checking our insurance and making sure we are up to date on the requirements to protect us and our employees even our customers. We have met a lot of new friends and gotten many ideas about how other tire stores do business.

 

Stephen and Hayley reside in Southside Alabama with their 2 girls Charity 16 and Savannah 9 and their sweet dog Blu that comes to work with them everyday. He is a great shop dog and customers love to see him. We are excited about the future and want to give God all the glory! Cheers to many more years of a growing business!
