Members of ATDA and AAAS are encouraged to help advocate for H.R.3401, a bipartisan bill that recognizes the economic, environmental, and strategic value of the domestic retread industry. It would:

• Provide a federal tax credit to fleets that purchase U.S.-manufactured retreaded tires;
• Establish a federal procurement preference for retreads to promote U.S. jobs and reduce dependence on low-cost imported tires;
• Direct the U.S. Department of Transportation and other federal agencies to integrate retreading into their sustainability and resilience planning formally;
• Elevate the environmental case for retreading, including its role in reducing tire waste, lowering emissions, and conserving raw materials.
